Moody Mammoth Recording Studio & Mysterium Project break in new board!

AUGUST 27, 2008

The "Mysterium" orchestra recorded their session at Moody Mammoth Studio. The ensemble is loaded with great performers with such a strong music personality and good listening skills.

I personally engineered the recording session; we prepped the session in one week, lots of homework for me, mostly on the drums ... Eric Eigner is an accurate and strong performer who combines solid tracks with eclectic free styles... so in my ipod last week, lots of Stewart Copeland and Billy Cobham.

Evan Mazunik directed the session with his "soundpainting" exceptional magic and piano touches. Groove master James Ilgerfritz on bass, soultalking guitar Adam Caine blended and filled smartly.

Then the 3 on 1: Alto Sax by Jeremy Dannerman, Tenor Sax by Lorenzo Sanguedolce and Trombone by Sam Kulik... they are like 1 person with 3 different voices, exact and empassioned...

It took me only 3 hours to mic them, line check and make a dummy session for them to check. They are a pleasure to record- focussed and ready to laugh all at once. They have great "studio spirit".

Recording started at 4 and ended by 11.30 (I had to kick them out or they would never stop playing ;-).

EPILOGUE:
